People ask me all the time, why a blog? What exactly is a blog? What made you decide to start a blog? Exactly what are you doing and why are you doing it? So I thought today I might give you an answer.
The 3 big reasons why I blog…
Lately, I’ve been listening to quite a few podcasts for bloggers, small business owners, and entrepreneurs. You know, those folks with the giant Instagram followings and very popular blogs. People with revenue streams and passive income. They are just so amazing! Am I right?
As I listen and learn, often the experts ask, what is your ‘WHY’? You need to know your ‘WHY’! Why are you writing? Why are you creating? Why are you putting yourself out there? Why are you sharing your life? Why? Why? Why?
I know exactly WHY I created PaulaTisch.com.
What I don’t know is why I haven’t shared this really crucial truth with Y’all!
Welcome to a deep dive into my heart and soul. Why I write. Why a blog? Why share? Why? Here are the 3 big reasons why I blog.
1. Why a blog? To encourage.
My heart is to encourage you in all that you do. To encourage you in your faith, your family and your home. To encourage you to grow, and try, and accomplish things.
We are all imperfect creations that are just flying by the seat of our pants. All of us. And my big purpose is to help you do whatever it is you feel passionate about doing. If you are passionate about your home, I am here. If you are passionate about Jesus, I am here. If you are passionate about your husband, and I hope you are, I am here.
Over the past 50 years, I have experienced some stuff. Stuff that has shaped and molded me into the woman I am today. Stuff like growing up in a family riddled with divorce. Losing my dad when I turned 20 years old. Meeting Jesus. Having step parents (I prefer to call them bonuses :)) Living with depression. Being married. Raising the Warriors. The list goes on.
And the thing is, we all have STUFF. 🙂
You can do this! You can. And I just want you to know you are not alone.
I am here to encourage you.
2. Why a blog? To inspire.
I have a ton of ideas. Truly, my brain does not shut off. I have so many ideas that I am overflowing with the need to share. I believe you can either try my ideas as is, expand on them, or even use them as a stepping stone to a new possibility.
The reason I share my coffee station or Favorite Pixies photo book is not to toot my horn and show you how great I am. I promise you I am not that great. I share them with you to inspire your own creativity!
My hope is that my ideas will spark something within you. Perhaps you will finally get the idea you need for your boring shelf or sad dresser. Maybe you will change your attitude and be excited about moving and exploring because of something I share. Or maybe you’ll be inspired with a new idea of your own!
There are so many ideas and possibilities out there. Get inspired!
3. Why a blog? To share joy.
There just isn’t enough joy in the world, is there? My passion and hope for you is that during your time with me you will experience some joy.
According to the dictionary, Joy is defined as the feeling of great pleasure and happiness. And I want that for you. I want you to have fun, smile, and be happy when you are with me.
But I want even more.
John Piper, an amazing Man of God, talks about Christian Joy.
“Christian joy is a good feeling in the soul, produced by the Holy Spirit, as he causes us to see the beauty of Christ in the word and in the world.”
Honestly, I would like you to experience this kind of joy! The reason I share my faith journey, my struggles, my failures, and my hopes and dreams is so that you might see Jesus and His handiwork in me. And even more, you might see the “…beauty of Christ in the word and in the world.”
For me, this blog is not as much about me as it is about you.
It is all about what encourages, inspires, and brings you joy. That is the truth. And it is super important to me that you know that. That you understand that the blog is about you. You are my ‘WHY’!
That being said, I would like to know what YOU would like to see more of? What kinds of things would encourage and inspire you more? What would bring more joy into your life?
Feel free to email me directly at paula@nonnio.com with your thoughts or leave them in the comments below.
You are important to me. You are my ‘WHY’! 🙂

Thank you Crystal! Me too 🙂
